Visits are held at the following times:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday: 09:15-11:15; 14:15-16:15; 17:45-18:45
Wednesday and Saturday: 14:15-16:15; 17:45-18:45
You can book a visit by calling 01933 718888 and selecting option 1 twice; the line is open 10:00-13:00 and 17:00-19:00. You can also email fivewells.visits@uk.g4s.com (Monday to Friday, for non-urgent bookings). Pre-booking is mandatory.
You will need photo ID (such as a passport, driving licence, Citizen Card or Scottish bus pass) and, on your first visit, proof of address dated within the last 3 months. Photo ID is required at every visit. Security checks include biometric ID, pat searches, metal-detector wands and drug-detection dogs, so you should arrive at least an hour before your visit; a 15-minute late cut-off applies. The visitors’ centre is run by Invisible Walls Family Services, who offer children’s activities and confidential family support.
Getting there:
The nearest railway station is Wellingborough, a walkable distance from the prison. Local bus routes 49, X46 and X47 also serve the area. There is on-site visitor car parking.
