HMP Maghaberry, near Lisburn, is Northern Ireland’s high-security prison. It holds adult male prisoners – both on remand and serving longer sentences – in both separated and integrated conditions, and can hold around 970 people. It’s the largest and most complex of Northern Ireland’s three prisons.
