Near Falkirk, HMP & YOI Polmont has long been Scotland’s largest young offenders institution. Since August 2024 it no longer holds anyone under 18 (they’re now cared for elsewhere under ‘The Promise’), and it’s increasingly also taking adult men and women, with its role continuing to evolve.
