Moving to Your Cell/Wing (Scotland)

After reception, you’ll be taken to your cell – often, for your first night or two, in a dedicated first night area separate from the main wings, where new arrivals get a bit more support while they find their feet.

You might be in a cell on your own or sharing, depending on the prison and how full it is at the time. Once you’ve settled in and been through induction, you’ll usually move to a standard hall or wing that matches your needs, and later, your progress through the sentence.
