Every prisoner in Scotland is given a Personal Officer – a named prison officer you can go to with questions, issues or concerns about your sentence, and who should get to know you and your circumstances over time.
Many prisons also have a dedicated Family Contact Officer, whose job is specifically to help keep prisoners and their families in touch – it’s worth asking about if staying in touch is proving difficult.
