The time of visits depends on which part of the establishment the prisoner is held

Visits must be pre-booked at least 24 hours in advance of the visit, on telephone number 01354 602 800, the line is available between 09:00 – 11:15 & 14:00 – 15:45 Monday to Friday. Any visits to High and Exceptional Risk prisoners must be booked seven days in advance. The prison holds Family visits during the school holiday period, and once a month a child free visiting session is held. For some prisoners there are restrictions on visits from children under 18 who are not relatives.
There is a Visitors’ Centre is open from 12:15, it is staffed by the Prison Service and is situated adjacent to the visitors’ car park. You will be searched before being allowed into the visits hall, and will have to provide satisfactory proof of identification.

HMP Whitemoor is situated near the town of March in Cambridgeshire. The nearest train station is March, which has frequent connections to Peterborough (click here). The station is about a 20-25 minute walk to the prison, but taxis are available at the station. Buses run from Peterborough bus station to March. Click here.
By car from the South via Huntingdon using the A141 follow the signposts to March then pick up the signs for HMP Whitemoor once approaching the town of March. In the town centre turn right at the traffic lights and continue along Station Road, over two level crossings. The prison is situated on the left hand side.
From the North via Peterborough follow the A47 east (towards Wisbech and Kings Lynn) until you reach Guyhirn. At Guyhirn roundabout (junction with the A141) turn right. The prison is then clearly signposted.
The visitors’ car park is situated opposite the main entrance.
